Transaquania – Into Thin Air, is a contemporary piece danced by the Icelandic Dance Company and choreographed by Erma Omarsdottir, Damien Jolet and Gabriela Fridtiksdottir.
This is a very captivating piece, created with fascinating and strange organic “mutated” forms.
Visually, wonderful with some beautiful patterns combined with unsettling and powerful images underscored by strange sounds in the musical score and lighting effects.
Although I love the imagery, I find it intense and disturbing, especially with the use of gas masks and the sound effects. For me, it is a powerful commentary of the human state…. I would love to see the whole piece live.
Take a look and add your thoughts, then pass it on!
